Ideal Timing of CABG After NSTEMI | Annals Animated (August 2025)

Investigators examined 10,271 patients with non–ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) who underwent isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) within 30 days of cardiac catheterization between July 2011 and July 2023, aiming to identify ideal timing of CABG after NSTEMI. Patients were divided into three groups: those who underwent CABG within ≤2 days, between 3 to 7 days, and between 8 to 30 days. This study concluded that CABG between 3 to 7 days after cardiac catheterization for NSTEMI was associated with the lowest risk of mortality.
