This piece is dedicated to my father, Gary Dockery (1942 - 2019) who introduced me to Bach and other great classical music artists. Thank you dad, and I love you.
Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 is a piece of organ music written, according to its oldest extant sources, by Johann Sebastian Bach. The piece opens with a toccata section, followed by a fugue that ends in a coda. It is one of the most famous works in the organ repertoire.
I recreated Bach's genius using a Baloran the River synth which was multitracked to Steinberg's Cubase 10 Pro. The reverb is from Exponential Audio’s awesome R4 reverb plugin. I'm estimating that I spent close to 100 hours putting this together....and in the end I believe that it was worth every single minute. Working on Bach pieces is very humbling. My God that man was a genius!
