On 7th February 1962 a Douglas RB-66C Reconnaissance Jet, registration number 54-460, crash lands South West of the RAF Chelveston air base, near to the village of Newton Bromswold. Of the 7 man crew on board the jet, four were killed when they ejected from the stricken aircraft over the airfield. The three crew that remained on board the aircraft survived the subsequent belly crash landing just over a mile further on.
This video attempts to retrace the last few seconds of that fateful flight over the actual crash site.
