The good news is the stop for the kickstart ratchet that goes behind the clutch is already installed on electric-only XLHs; one less part to source and pay for. Clutch, primary chain and engine sprocket must come off as one; you'll need inch and a half, and inch and a quarter sockets, and some way of locking the clutch centre. My engine itself is locked with a few yards of washing line wire fed down the plug hole at BDC; the piston can only return so much until it squashes all that nylon cord so that big nut on the front comes off OK, it's the clutch one causes all the trouble.
