🚨 July 7, 2025: Federal Raid Sparks Outrage
A large federal operation—code‑named Operation Excalibur—involved roughly 90 National Guard troops, ICE, and Border Patrol agents raiding MacArthur Park in the Westlake neighborhood. The park was mostly empty, aside from children at a summer camp and outreach workers.
LA Mayor Karen Bass confronted the operation on-site, calling it “outrageous”, “un‑American”, and a political stunt meant to intimidate immigrant residents.
