Hello All!
Who else can’t get enough of Kenny Kirkland!? For post #35 I’m very happy to share this burning blues solo from the master. This is from a live recording at the Village Vanguard with the Branford Marsalis Quartet in 1989. So much great stuff here and Kenny is really showing his Thelonius Monk influences at times as well. Really grooving, rhythmically displaced motif’s as well as some insanely fast 16th note runs. I have to admit that this was one of the hardest solos to transcribe… so far… 🤔 Hope that you all enjoy and get something from this!
