Direct sunlight is a great whitening tool because of its natural bleaching power. Hanging white sheets outdoors on a sunny day to dry is a good way to enhance their brightness. Leaving sunlit areas as untouched white paper in watercolor is also a great technique to achieve the effect of bright light. In this video, I will demonstrate painting a floral where much of the details is eaten away by the sun, leaving wonderful, abstract patterns that draw the viewer's attention.
