On this late-summer walk, we finish a stretch of the Somerville Community Path, one of those places you don’t fully appreciate until you actually walk it.
The path runs through a mix of trees, neighborhood spaces, public art, and everyday life — joggers, families, kids playing, and moments that feel more suburban than urban, even though you’re still right in Greater Boston.
A key part of this walk follows the MBTA Green Line Extension (GLX), a major transit project that reconnected Somerville and Cambridge with light rail service for the first time in decades. The extension now runs alongside portions of the path, blending public transit, pedestrian space, and green infrastructure in a way that’s still new enough to feel interesting.
It’s a calm, sunny day, and for me, this was a place I genuinely didn’t know existed until I walked it — which is half the fun of these videos.
No agenda, no narration — just walking, observing, and letting the city speak for itself.
