Why an Undiagnosed Hackathon?
Over 350 million people worldwide live with an undiagnosed disease. While Whole Genome Sequencing offers answers to about 40% of People Living With Undiagnosed Diseases (PLWUD), around 60% remain without a diagnosis.
The Undiagnosed Hackathon aims to change this by fostering new collaborations and exploring innovative solutions to tackle diseases that have, so far, defied diagnosis.
At the heart of this event are the PLWUD, who—despite the best efforts of doctors and genetic specialists—remain undiagnosed. Clinicians from around the world will nominate these patients to participate in this unique event.
Multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, bioinformaticians, molecular biologists, scientists, developers, AI experts, and brilliant minds, will unite to confront some of the most complex medical challenges of our time.
Pioneered by Wilhelm Foundation, the Undiagnosed Hackathon is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in healthcare.
