BirdDog is raising the bar for PTZ performance with the launch of the XL Ultra — unveiled for the first time at NAB New York 2025.

The BirdDog XL Ultra is “extra-large in every way,” featuring the largest image sensor ever in a PTZ — a large-format 4/3″ CMOS delivering incredible dynamic range, cinematic depth of field, and outstanding low-light performance. Despite its compact body, XL packs a 20× optical zoom in 4K (and up to 40× in HD), producing broadcast-quality results with precision and clarity.

But there’s more — two cameras in one. The main PTZ captures detailed close-ups while the built-in wide-angle base camera offers a second view for presentations, events, or studio environments. Together, they power BirdDog’s AI-driven eye-tracking, enabling smooth, natural movement that follows subjects intelligently.

Connectivity is just as advanced: SFP+ ports for SDI and network, Genlock support, SRT and RTMP streaming, and an optional optical low-pass filter that eliminates moiré on LED walls and video displays. Quiet motors and thermal design ensure whisper-silent operation — perfect for live, studio, or XR production.
