In this classic short story penned by Zane Grey, one of the godfathers of Westerns, two horse-rearing brothers come across a bounty letter. The target: a stallion terrorizing Sevier County by leading settlers’ horses out of their corrals and back into the wild. The reward, capable of saving them from a shoddy season of horse-breaking, is irresistible to the brothers. What results is a struggle between man and beast, freedom and captivity, as the brothers travel across states, through plateaus and forests, to capture the magnificent beast known as Lightning.
