Hey everyone! In today’s video, we’re taking you along as we hop on a train from Busan to Seoul!
We started our journey bright and early, boarding the train in Busan. While it was just under three hours long, we were pleasantly surprised by the vibe of the station when we arrived in Seoul. Compared to the chaotic Tokyo Station we experienced previously, Seoul Station had a more laid-back atmosphere, making our arrival a breeze.
One of the first things that caught our eye was the giant mascot of the Lotte Giants, a professional baseball team based in Busan. Talk about a welcoming committee! And speaking of first impressions, when we finally settled into our seats, Alan noticed that they were a tad narrower than what we were used to on Japanese trains. However, the convenience didn’t stop there – this train had luggage compartments, phone chargers, and even a vending machine. Plus, we were pleasantly surprised to find free Wi-Fi onboard.
After our relaxed ride, we hopped into a taxi to our hotel because we were pretty tired and just wanted to get to our hotel as quickly as possible. Pro tip: If you’re traveling with multiple pieces of luggage, be sure to catch a larger taxi. We learned the hard way that smaller cabs might just pass you by if they think your stuff won’t fit!
Speaking of our hotel, we arrived at Andaz Seoul Gangnam by Hyatt. Located in the trendy Gangnam area, this luxury hotel is surrounded by high fashion shopping, art museums, and delicious dining options. Plus, it has direct access to Apgujeong Metro Station, which is super convenient for getting around the city. After checking in, we quickly headed up to our room because Avery needed a nap (and honestly, we were ready for a little downtime too). Our room was very spacious – it had a giant shower, a separate tub, and a double vanity. The separate toilet was a nice touch, making it super comfortable for all of us.
While Avery took a nap, Alan headed down to the spa facilities at the Andaz, called The Summer House. It was very nice, and we looked forward to enjoying the facilities at a later time.
After taking a nap, we were ready to explore the local cuisine! We didn't have to look far for Korean BBQ in the bustling Gangnam area. With plenty of dining options around, we were recommended a popular spot amongst locals. All the side dishes were fantastic, and one of the best parts? They cooked the BBQ for us! No worries about overcooking or undercooking our food – just pure enjoyment and delicious bites!
Once we wrapped up our meal, we headed back to the hotel to enjoy our complimentary welcome drinks and some pool time.
We can’t wait to share more of our journey with you as we explore everything this electrifying city has to offer! Stay tuned for our next video, and don’t forget to like and subscribe!
