Struggling on your forehand speed-ups?
In this CCC lesson, I work with Ed on cleaning up his forehand speed-up off the bounce. He was getting too wristy and over-swinging, which caused balls to sail long or dump into the net.
We focused on:
reducing excess wrist
using the forearm instead of snapping
shortening the swing
staying balanced so he’s ready for the next ball
Once those pieces clicked, his forehand speed-ups became cleaner, more controlled, and far more effective in hand battles.
Speed-ups don’t need to be hit hard to work, they need to be timed well and controlled. If you’re missing this shot or getting burned on the next ball, this breakdown will help you fix it fast.
