Guyanese Black cake/Rum Cake Recipe

In this video you will learn how to make black cake. Black cake is a delicious, moist, and fruity cake that is traditionally enjoyed throughout the Christmas season. This cake is infused with lots of wine and rum so watch out for the little ones. Eat responsibly 😉.
Ingredients for Cake Batter:
3 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
2 Cups Butter
2 TBSP Baking Powder
1 1/2 TSP Essence
3 TBSP Browning
1 TSP Allspice
1 TSP Nutmeg (Freshly Grated)
12 Eggs (Medium Sized)
Ingredients for Fruit Mix:
3 Cups Fruit Mix
1 1/2 Cup Dark Rum
1 1/2 Cup Red Wine
3/4 Cup Red Wine (this is for when the cake is finished baking)
1/2 Cup Cherry
1/2 Cup Mixed Peel
1/2 Cup Black Raisins
1/2 Cup Golden Raisins
1/2 Cup Prunes
After the cake is baked you will need 1/4 cup of red wine for each cake. I baked 3 cakes in all, so I used 3/4 cup of red wine.
Baking temperature: 325°
You will need three nonstick baking pans. I used three 9 inch round springform baking pans. You also need pam spray and flour to coat the baking pans.
