Here is the making of the Top plate, easily the most complex part I have to do and fits everything together. The Piston, Lower ring (portafilter) and pressure gauge must all attach to this part flawlessly.
I have adjusted the audio way down, but make sure you check your volume level first, always better to have it lower and raise it, the mic on the camera isn't the best in a waterproof housing, but still.
I couldn't turn off coolant for much of this footage unfortunately, but there are a few places where I felt it was safer. Stainless can easily work harden at the speeds I cut at, even though many are conservative and don't look that fast, I've had it happen when coolant wasn't right on the cut!
And before many comment, yes a lathe would be a little faster, I have made this part on the CNC lathe in the past, however several challenging operations there as well as the quality of single point threads, and blunt start threads (higbee) have made this on the mill MUCH better in terms of quality of operation. Cycle times and surface finish have been the compromise, however I am happy with both. I can also now cut 4 parts at once, or if I get more vises or build a pallet, increase that by several times.
