I play what I consider the best civilization in Age of Empires IV, and I bring out a pro-level tactic that doesn’t just win — it shuts the entire map down. My opponent? The fearsome Order of the Dragon, known for their heavy cavalry and relentless momentum. But it doesn’t matter. Because in this match, I control everything. Every resource. Every choke point. Every sacred site. I become the center of the map — literally.
From the opening minutes, the plan is clear: take the high ground and never let it go. King of the Hill isn’t just a mode — it’s the strategy. I secure the center, wall it off, and start building the foundation of a massive castle complex that will turn the game into a fortress war — one they can’t win.
