This video has been made to commemorate 50 years since the end of regular mainline steam in Britain in 1968. The film uses modern footage from heritage railways around the country, but with a sepia tone added to give a feel for the end of steam.
The video is split into three sections, 1966: end of steam on the Western region, 1967: end of steam on the Southern region and 1968: end of steam all together.

Featuring many of the classes that have lived on in preservation, this video also serves as a celebration of the modern heritage railway scene, and it is a testament to all involved that these scenes are still here to be recreated.
