At the start of this video I begin turning a vase from a piece of beech cut from a tree at my local park. However, after the initial turning I decided to make an Urn instead.
I part of the top to act as a lid and remove the foot so I can turn a contrasting foot out of Sapele. An additional piece of Sapele will make up the rim of the Urn.
This video focuses on the turning of the parts for the urn. In the next video I'll ebonise the Beech parts using a solution of Vinegar and steel wool. Once the piece is ebonised and glued together I'll cap the piece with a finial. I have something special planned for that.
I hope you enjoyed watching this video. If you haven't done so already please Subscribe so that you won't miss out on Part 2 and also check out my other videos. If you like the video please share so more can see it.
Thank you.
