LEGO Mythica : World of Mythical Creatures is the brand new area at LEGOLAND Windsor and is home to 13 brand new LEGO models.
The models are creatures made up of different animals, as well mythical creatures. There's ogres, alicorns, lava dragons, hydras. Then in the imaginery mixed up world theres a winged mouse, a dog with a peacock tale, a flower covered rhino and one of the largest ever LEGO models, Maximus the Sky Lion.
Maximus is a winged lion, and the centre piece for the big new ride of Mythica, Flight of the Sky Lion. Maximus required 5,530 pieces and weighs 1,520 kg. It took 15 model makers 3,000 hours to build
The impressive four headed Chimera took 12 Model Makers over 650 hours to assemble, using a total of 109,522 bricks. The Chimera is inspired by Greek mythology, featureing four different heads: a snake, shark, eagle and lion.
