HOWDEN: East Riding of Yorkshire Parish #17 of 172

Welcome back to the East Riding for the first town we've covered in the county, and you won't find many quite like this one. It isn't that long ago that this town belonged to County Durham, and was treated as an exclave!

If you come here you cannot miss, mainly due to the size of it, the massive Minster which towers over a patchwork quilt of cobbled streets, shops and gorgeous buildings, most of which have some kind of historical significance.

You won't struggle to find a pub here, that is for sure, because this town used to have more pubs per square half mile than anywhere else in thr country. Take a walk up Pinfold Street and you will see what I mean!

The Minster may be the main focal point but everywhere, and I mean everywhere, you will find something to look at. There's the Bishop's Manor House, a Fruit House, Ashes Park, a hall and garden, a crazy amount of blue plaques on seemingly every building, and that's before we've considered the railway station or the windmill a couple of miles to the North.

There's no way I've covered it all here but this is my stab at the town of HOWDEN.
