Minors in Cosplay, Cons, and Media

Why are people so weird about minors? I feel like it shouldn't be that hard to not be creepy, to not be problematic- but here we are! Some people are probably thinking "you can do whatever you want" or "they're fictional characters, it isn't that big of a deal" and really, it's the principle. The unchecked sexualization of minors in fiction can very easily turn into the unchecked sexualization of real minors. At the end of the day, fictional or not, adults should not be so obsessive over minors, period. Make some friends your own age, find a waifu that's an adult (you've got plenty of choices), and get a grip.

I feel as though I made my points very clear in this video but just in case there is any doubt: I do not endorse the sexualization of minors both fictional and nonfictional. I do not endorse the normalization of such behavior. I also do not endorse the normalization of how easily minors are able consume adult media and the frequency of said consumption. By pointing out the similarities in behavior between different generations, I am pointing out the bigger problem at hand within society and within online communities rather than saying "oh well we did it too, so whatever". If anything I say in this video is unclear to you, please point it out so I can rephrase or explain further! My intent is to both uplift younger and newer members in the community while keeping the adults in check.
