Dr. James Mallinson, well-respected scholar of Yoga at SOAS University of London, is recognised as one of the world's leading experts on the history of early Hatha Yoga.
He was vital to the film Awakening The Goddess as he provides a scholarly accounting of the earliest mentions of Kundalini in texts.
Here in this video he is describing the Bindu Model of Hatha Yoga. This Bindu model appears in early Hatha Yoga texts, and later the idea of Kundalini with the chakras is overlaid on to this model. This section of footage does not appear in the final cut of the full documentary of Awakening the Goddess.
