On Top Story with Samuel Kojo Brace on Joy 99.7 FM, the Minority in Parliament is demanding the immediate reversal of the Speaker’s decision to refer Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to the Privileges Committee — a move they describe as “baseless, bogus, and politically motivated.”
The Minority accuses Speaker Alban Bagbin of weaponizing the Standing Orders of Parliament to target their leader after he appeared before the ECOWAS Parliament despite being removed from the delegation through a House resolution.
Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei tells journalists that the referral is an attempt to politically persecute and crush the Minority Leader. She maintains that the decision to remove him from the ECOWAS delegation lacks merit.
