This video walks you through how to upgrade to the latest Windows 11 OS from Windows 10 with #TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled.
TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) is required to run Windows 11 as an important building block for security-related features. TPM 2.0 is used in Windows 11 for a number of features, including Windows Hello for identity protection and BitLocker for data protection.
Most retail motherboard manufacturers shipped their products with TPM 2.0 disabled by default. Therefore, it is needed to enable TPM 2.0 through UEFI BIOS settings. TPM may be labeled Security Device, Security Device Support, TPM State, AMD fTPM switch, AMD PSP fTPM, Intel PTT, or Intel Platform Trust Technology.
In addition to a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), your computer also needs to have Secure Boot enabled to upgrade to Windows 11. Secure Boot is a security feature built-in on most devices with modern hardware and UEFI firmware that provides a secure environment to start Windows and prevent malware from hijacking the system during the boot process. In other words, Secure Boot allows the computer to boot only with trusted software from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Please note UEFI firmware only works with GPT (GUID Partition Table) disks. If the computer is in Legacy BIOS mode which is only compatible with MBR (Master Boot Record) disks, you will first need to convert MBR to GPT disk. This particular process will destroy all data on disk. So make sure you backup your data before proceeding.
