In this video, special guest appearance George and I travel to the Kaiping Diaolou. These are UNESCO-listed fortified watchtowers hidden in the countryside of Guangdong, China. Built by overseas Chinese families in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, they combine traditional Chinese design with Western architectural influences, standing as symbols of both protection and prosperity.
We begin in Chikan Ancient Town, before racing against rain storms to get to Zili Village. Lastly, we walk through the Guangdong countryside to Li Garden.
