As much as us guitar nerds drool over pricey gear, is there really a meaningful sonic difference between a $4000 Gibson Les Paul and a $200 Epiphone Les Paul?
I got the chance to help my buddy fix and set up his Epiphone Les Paul Special, a budget-friendly "starter" guitar.

Since I had curiosity and time, i decided to compare it with my 1990 Gibson Les Paul Custom.
All settings for each track are exactly the same. Same amp, same mic, same studio compressor (used very lightly).
