The Punjab State Women’s Commission has launched an inquiry into Punjabi music stars Karan Aujla and Yo Yo Honey Singh.
The body alleges that both artists have used derogatory language against women in their songs.
The commission took notice of the issue and has written to the state Director General of Police (DGP), urging immediate action.
Both singers have also been summoned to appear before the commission on August 11, 2025.
A statement from the commission confirmed it had taken strong exception to lyrics in songs by both artists, citing them as disrespectful towards women.
