Hampi is a mesmerizing little village on banks of river Tungabhadra in the state of Karnataka and it comes under Ballari District. This place houses the ruins of the famous Vijaynagar Kingdom which achieved great heights of prosperity and peace during the 16th century. Hampi is UNESCO World Heritage site and is basically a huge open air museum. The interesting topography laid with boulders and huge rocks makes it a place which startles you.
Hampi has two sides to it, one, the south side of Tungabhadra which is laid with ancient ruins to get lost into and, second, Hippie Island, the north side, which is a perfect place to relax and get transfixed.
Hampi is both a geographical and historical Marvel and reminds you of the glory of India's past.
Hampi is easily accessible by road and train from Bangalore at a distance of about 350KM. The nearest airport is in Belgaum at 105KM.
So, visit hampi for an experience like no other. Namaste😊
