If you check on my video, I mostly use a Tulip Crochet Hook. I have many kind of crochet hooks, but this is the hook that I use the most. If you are a beginner and you only want to buy 1 crochet hook, I recommend you to buy Tulip Etimo Rose Crochet Hook, 5/3mm as a start. From my experience, this hook size suit with yarn weight 1 to 3. ABBREVIATIONS (US Crochet Terms)

sl st: slip stitch
ch: chain
sc: single crochet

inc: increase (make 2 sc in the same space)
dec: decrease (sc2tog) - use Invisible Decrease for better result. Using invisible decrease (dec) instead of sc2tog is very recommended when making amigurumi; you can't even tell that the stitches are decreasing.
