Cochlear Implant Post-op: Is THIS Why My Implant Ear is Totally Deaf?

I know better than to expect too much, but I re-read my post-op instructions and found a reason to think that some of my residual hearing will survive my implant surgery...even if that ear is totally deaf for now.
