When driving around the nursery today i happened upon a few of the older Fuyu Persimmons that have been maintained for budwood since the mid- 1990s'. These are not pruned using Backyard Orchard Culture, rather they are wacked for budwood each year with no regard for Sunlight penetration, air circulation or fruit wood development. Just the convenance of collecting budwood year after year, Still they are loaded with fruit and are yearly loaded with fruit. Maintained at roughly 10 feet one can easily see that 6 feet would be no problem,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,even 5 feet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hell can we bush out persimmons? I don't know but size control using the basic Backyard Orchard Culture recommendations is the way to have that choice in your home orchard or landscape. #persimmon , #fruittrees ,#homegardening
