Electric Blues slide guitar at the Golden Lion in Bristol. The Blues Cafe Orchestra play a set of blues, southern rock and jam band material.
We were the test subjects for the new house PA, which I think sounded great.
I've captured the audio on a Tascam DR40 that's much further back in the room than where you're seeing us from in the video.
It's quite interesting that I'm running my Marshall SV20H in to an impulse response and then in to the PA. Where the Tascam is, you're likely hearing nothing from my cab behind me. I'm not that loud a guitarist, in fact you can see my cab is angled sideways, as the drummer (who isn't a very loud drummer) said he couldn't hear me, so I've pointed the cab more towards him and the bassist. I just hear myself spread around, a little out of the back of the PA, some on-stage but out of the back or side of the cab. I pretty much insist on turning off all stage monitors too, as I don't like them!
In the last number, you can hear my solo fade in and out a bit. The engineer was obviously playing with the levels as that was actually the 1st song of the night, but it shows that he's very much in control of the levels not me and thus what you're hearing is the impulse response not the cab.
