Are Music Blogs Worth Submitting to in 2024?

Music blogs and publications like Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Pitchfork used to have a lot of influence on an artist's career. Since streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music have dominated music discovery, these music publications' music reviews don’t have the catapulting power they used to 10-15 years ago.

Sites like Complex, Pigeons and Planes, and Billboard certainly aren't dead, though. They do still have value, but it has shifted tremendously over the past decade, especially for musicians.

So are these online music publications really worth pursuing in your marketing strategies in 2023, or is it best to focus efforts elsewhere?
