As someone who loves surfing, Nazaré was high on my list of surf spots to hit in Portugal - it’s home to the world’s largest surfable waves and countless surf records have been broken here. The respect for the sea is evident in everyone’s attitudes and a great €1 exhibition in the caves under the lighthouse explains the cause of the huge swell. Best of all… I used the hammock for the first time and was VERY content!
