Highlights of 2 Dives at perhaps Bali’s most famous dive: the USAT Liberty Wreck.
The USAT Liberty was a 411ft long armed cargo ship that was torpedoed by the Japanese in 1942. In 1963 a volcanic eruption pushed the ship into 30 meters of water. Today the ship has become a stunning reef, with great coral and fish variety.
Visibility was decent, if not amazing.
Remarkable how the reef has overtaken every inch of the ships hull, mast, guns etc. Some spectacular fish and corals, from the usual colorful wrasses and damselfish to some massive groupers and snappers. Quite an amazing dive overall, even though it could get a bit crowded at times.
