Euro Chic Ain't Cheap! (2025 Peugeot 3008 GT Premium Hybrid review)

Peugeot has become something of a niche brand in Australia, but can its third-generation 3008 make a bigger sales splash in the country’s biggest vehicle segment?

New hybrid tech won’t harm its chances, though the French brand’s pricing continues to be surprisingly high with the 3008 starting from $52,990 before on-road costs.

Here, we test the flagship GT Premium that costs from $64,990 - a fair bit higher than multiple high-spec direct rivals. And while it’s loaded with equipment, for similar money buyers could have an Audi or BMW, or a seven-seater SUV.

The GT Premium’s feature highlights include, pixel LED headlights, ‘3D’ LED tail-lights, black contrast roof & rear spoiler, electric tailgate, nappa perforated leather upholstery, electric front seats with heating, cooling, massage functions, heated rear outboard seats, Focal 10-speaker audio system, panoramic split sunroof, and touch LED cabin lighting.

Peugeot’s hybrid system comprises a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, six-speed dual-clutch auto with integrated electric motor, and a 0.9kWh battery.

The 3008 Hybrid promises official fuel consumption of 4.9L/100km and the ability to power the front wheels at low speeds with electricity alone, but how is efficiency and driveability in the real world.
