I’m making a wall-mounted whiskey display shelf in this video, it’s made from New Zealand Rimu that was destined for the firewood heap. But even though it had a bit of bug damage and a big bark inclusion, I used it to make what I think turned out pretty flash. I book-matched the main panel, stabilized the bark inclusion with Queen ebony bow ties, filled the bug holes, installed a shelf for the bottles and glasses, and finally made a bull's head with horns to help tie the bottles in.
