MARIA CALLAS sings "Vissi D'arte" on November 25, 1956

Here we have Maria Callas inhabiting one of her signature roles. This 1956 performance of Puccini's "Tosca" is not identified regarding location so perhaps some Callas devotee can chime in with a comment in this regard. It's another discovery from the dusty crates at YouTube channel TheMotionDevotion, in this case an unlabeled Betamax videocassette of recordings from television.

Our curator could not resist the urge to upload this clip next to Patti LaBelle & Morgana King in a side-by-side tribute to the DIVA-tude that all three epitomize.
