Using flint & steel on the scrapings of a cracked cap polypore. Impromptu video.
Horse hoof fungus is the most widely recognized tinder fungus, and used to make amadou, it's a rarity in my area. The question originally was, can amadou be made from the cracked cap polypore, but soon found that just scraping the layer under the hardened cap can be used as well.
This wasn't intended to be a video, but was just getting to know the anatomy of the fungi when I stumbled upon the ability to use scrapings with flint & steel.
I'm still going to see if amadou can be made from the cracked cap as well.
