Long gone are the days of long consists of orange SD38's or tunnel motors pulling multiple ore and coal trains daily in western Pennsylvania. Since CN's purchase of the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad back in 2004, most of the Bessemer engine roster has been dispersed onto other portions of CN, and only a few of their engines remain in western PA. One of those engines is BLE #905, a former SSW SD45T-2 tunnel motor, and is featured in this video as it led a now CN ore train south from Butler, Pa to Pittsburgh Pa on October 6th, 2017. Trains on the Bessemer today are a far cry from over a decade ago, as only one loaded ore train moves per day and just a few engines are kept on the line.
