Experienced hedge layer Andrew Kirkwood is based in South Cumbria and works across Cumbria, north Lancashire and north Yorkshire. Laying between 3-4 km of hedges each winter season, his credentials in this vital craft are second to none. Andrew shares key aspects of how hedges should be laid correctly in the local Lancashire and Westmorland style, so they re-grow and rejuvenate into thick healthy hedges. He highlights the training run through the Lancashire and Westmorland Hedge Laying Association, helping to skill the next generation of hedgelayers.
