This video follows the progress of transformation from a poorly managed situation spruce commercial plantation towards a mixed native broadleaf woodland in the North East of Scotland. January 2022 to December 2025.
You will see how it was on the weekend of my custodianship one day before Storm Marek tore down one third of the trees. There are various stages documented here including the introduction of livestock to bring some fertility to the soil.
These are now off the land and you can see some previously uploaded videos explaining a little about the 1152 trees now planted. The self seeded birches and oaks are doing pretty well too.
I left this video without additional audio because the sounds of nature do the talking.
