After months of setbacks and legal battles Norfolk Southern intermodal train 264 running as Z618 finally made its first trip over CSX. The train originates at NS' Chicago 63rd St. Yard and ran up the recently restored Albany Main from Delanson to Voorheesville, NY. At Voorheesville, 264/Z618 enters the CSX Selkirk Sub and heads east through Selkirk Yard, over the Alfred H. Smith Bridge and onto the Berkshire Subdivision, Boston Subdivision and finally the Worcester Subdivision, arriving at Ayer, MA.
Leading the way on its "maiden voyage" is NS 8098, the Conrail Heritage Unit and NS 1080, the D&H Heritage Unit. NS 1080 was scheduled to lead but due to cab signal issues at Binghamton, NY the power was turned.
In this video, we see NS 264 at Game Farm Rd just west of Selkirk Yard, Percy Hill Rd. in Chatham, NY meeting CSX I017-13, Flints Crossing Rd in Chatham, NY and finally passing the "Cat Lady Crossing" at the top of Washington Hill.
