German police search for suspect after three bodies discovered in house

Police in Rhineland Palatinate discovered three bodies in a house in Weitefeld. Two of the victims are male and one is female, according to a police spokesman.

Circumstances remained unclear at the time of writing.

Investigators were still searching for the suspected perpetrator in Weitefeld, around 100 kilometers north of the state capital Mainz, on Sunday, including using a helicopter over a neighboring forest. A special task force was deployed.

Police advised that there was no specific danger to the local population, but asked people not to pick up hitchhikers in the region.
