The smallmouth bass were really biting as we walked the creek for some evening fishing. We were able to catch crawfish to use for bait, and the smallmouth bass just ate them up. Things started out slow, and we didn't get any bites at all when using artificial lures/baits. As soon as we switched to using nightcrawlers and crawfish as bait, it was on!
We caught several species of fish, including smallmouth bass, sunfish, drum and catfish. For this fishing trip, we strictly practiced catch and release. We don't like to deplete these small local creeks of these beautiful fish unnecessarily.
