Tiny river, huge fun: Euro nymphing and dry fly fishing on Die Warche (LRPE) - 2 anglers, 20 trout!

Surprisingly high and - most importantly - coloured water on the Amblève (water was being released from a reservoir upstream) triggered an improvised change of plans for the day (14th of May, 2025). So I picked up a friend who was fishing in the region, and we went to the upper section of Die Warche (where I already fished two half days two weeks earlier, but it was completely new for Lion). It was a good choice: we had the whole river for ourselves, and the fish were also very cooperative!

There were a lot of insects hatching at times, and there were actually quite some rising fish too (unlike last time) - so many that I almost went back for my dry rod... At the end I stuck with my usual Euro nymphing, while Lion used his trusty dry rod when whenever we spotted some surface action. There was also a lot of chub present, but we managed to avoid them almost 100%. From 12:30 to 19:00 we caught more than 20 trout together (20 are in the video, I could not record a few of Lion's mostly when we were catching at the same time). While I like fishing alone a lot, it was nice to share the day with a friend.
