This time 3 pre-war interpretations of the American streamlined train set, the M 10,000.
First of all, the beautiful and most realistic version of LIONEL. This train is made of tin and the bottoms and part of the nose are made of die-cast metal. This makes this train quite heavy and sounds like a "real" train!
The second was made by Paya in Spain. Paya also made this after WWII, but it is of much poorer quality. This train is made entirely of tin plate and the only problem was that it did not fit properly on my (Lionel and Jep) rails. Original Paya track is a fraction wider between the rails. I had to put the wheels a little closer together and that was quite difficult with the motor bogie and even required some turning on the lathe.
The third is the beautifully lithographed Marx. Perhaps the least similar to the original, but due to its colors and toy-like appearance, it is perhaps the nicest! You can find this Marx in different colors and designs. Electric or with a clockwork. Beautiful in simplicity!
