In many coastal environments, vibracoring is the only way to sample. Especially important in subaqueous soils and super saturated sandy soil types. The device sonicates around an aluminum pipe and will slide into the soil. Careful consideration of the soil type and vibracore setup is needed to ensure the proper setup for intact, non-compacted cores.
