Professional Stonemason carves the architectural moulding known as a Cyma-Recta or "Ogee" using traditional methods with hand tools only. The whole process from raw block to tooled finish took around 8 hours in Indiana limestone. Would you like to know more? Please ask away in the comments and let me know what you'd like to see.
I always get a few comments saying "I could've done this in 2 parsecs with a grinder", and I'm sure you could well of done that, but - after doing that for almost 20 years I enjoy going back to basics and working by hand, to demonstrate the traditional methods I was taught in my apprenticeship.
Thanks for watching and please leave a like and a comment, it helps me grow the channel and provide you with more videos. Thanks!
