Welcome to this elementary Mandarin class. I am Sisi Laoshi.
when a verb takes a complement of state. 比 can be put before the verb or before the complement.
Structure is:
哥哥比我跑得快。Gēge bǐ wǒ pǎo de kuài. Older brother run faster than me.
比can also put before the complement
丈夫起得比我早。Zhàngfu bǐ wǒ qǐ de zǎo. Husband get up earlier than me.
